Laura is an attorney based in Nashville, Tennessee, and a debut novelist whose love of history, travel, and character-driven storytelling led her to write her first work of historical fiction. She has written for professional magazines, newsletters, and speaking engagements throughout her career, but fiction offered her a chance to explore deeper emotional truths and follow characters into extraordinary times. She is a member of the Historical Novel Society and The History Quill.

To research her current work, More Than Just a Game, she retraced the paths of her characters—walking the streets of London and Beaconsfield where Maggie travels daily, spending time in Marseille and Toulouse where Hattie operates as a Resistance courier, sitting in the courtyard of Colditz Castle prison from which Albert escapes, and hiking the trail across the Pyrenees that her characters follow in the book’s most dangerous crossing.

In addition to reading and traveling, Laura enjoys spending time with her friends and family, scuba diving, trying to learn French (emphasis on trying), and hanging out with her dogs, Hattie and Lillie.
